Destiny 2’s Solstice of Heroes has begun, and Bungie have done what they usual do and introduced a new word to the mix little explanation as to what it means. This, combined with poorly described challenges, is leading to players wondering what a combatant is.
Combatants, in the simplest sense, are anything that you can kill, so all enemies in the game. Where it gets a little more confusing is that only certain enemies will count towards this challenge, and only under certain conditions.
What you need to do is inspect the armor piece to see the full and detailed description of what you need to do to get the challenges completed.
As you can see in the image above. The challenge is quite vague, simply saying “Combatants”, but giving no further details about what we need to do. If you inspect the armor and pay attention to the text marked by the red box below, you will see a much more detailed explanation.
For this particular challenge, we need to defeat combatants in the European Aerial Zone, when we have a Void subclass equipped. This doesn’t mean we need to kill them with Void energy, weapons, or abilities, we just need to have the subclass equipped while we are in the EAZ killing enemies for them to count.
Hopefully this clears up the issue, and makes it easier for you to figure out exactly what Bungie wants you to do to finish each challenge, and progress your armor pieces to next level.
