What are the drones in Fortnite, and where can you find them?

One of the new things introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 4 is Stark Industries Drones. These little guys will fly around certain areas of the map, and if you shoot them down, they can drop loot. The loot will include everything from shields to health, and even Mythic items like the Silver Surfer’s Board, and Groots Bramble Shield.

Where to find drones

You can find drones at all the Quinjet sites. At the start of a round, the Quinjets will fly past the Battle Bus and land at areas of the map with blue smoke coming from them. They are incredibly easy to spot from the Battle Bus. When you get close to these locations on the ground, they will be marked by a jet symbol on the minimap.

You need to be careful when heading to these sites as they are patrolled by Stark Robots. These guys will light you up if they see you, and are armed with powerful laser weapons. You will want to try and take them all out so you can safely loot the area. If you want, you can hack them after you down them. Just run up to them and hit the prompted button, and you will have a friendly drone that follows you around until it gets destroyed.

Once you have dealt with all the robots, you can shoot down the drones. When they are destroyed, they will drop assorted loot on the ground. They can be a great source of powerful weapons, shield jugs, and the previously mentioned Mythic items.
