Fortnite’s Season 10 is coming to an end, and that leaves the future of the popular battle royale game a mystery. With its next major update, Fortnite may be starting not just Season 11 but the rumored Fortnite Chapter 2. A recent leak from the Italian App Store shows a logo for Chapter 2 along with some significant changes to the map. If the leak turns out to be accurate, a whole new era for Fortnite could be right around the corner.

Among the questions still left unanswered about Fortnite’s new season, and chapter is when it will start. Epic Games hasn’t officially confirmed the Chapter 2 leak yet, let alone confirmed when it’s coming. However, there are some hints to when Season 11 will be starting, and it might be earlier than you think.

Typically, new Fortnite Battle Passes come into effect a few days after the previous season official ends with a special live event. We know that Season 10 ends Sunday, Oct. 13, after a one-week delay from its scheduled Oct. 6 end. Under normal circumstances, we would still have a while to wait before Season 11 officially starts.

The next Fortnite Season 11 looks like it’s going to be anything but typical, though. If it does signal the beginning of Chapter 2, it could usher in some of the biggest changes in the game’s history. Rumors suggest that the changes brought about in the Season 10 live event finale may be so big that play won’t be able to continue without the new season starting right away. In plain terms, some people are expecting the familiar Fortnite map to get replaced during the big event, with Chapter 2 beginning with the migration to a whole new one.

If that’s the case, Fortnite Season 11 and Chapter 2 kicks off Oct. 13, immediately after the Season 10 finale. The finale starts at 2pm EST on Sunday so that the new season would kick off a short time after that. Epic Games will still need to take the servers offline to patch in the latest update. However, you’ll likely be able to jump into Fortnite Chapter 2 late in the day on Oct. 13 or early on Oct. 14, depending on where in the world you live.
