Ark: Survival Evolved is a game that requires you to find the best dinosaurs to do all the jobs the game has for you. From farming various resources with dinosaurs like the Ankylosaurus to soaking turrets with a Stegosaurus, there’s something for everything. Four new creatures have been introduced with the release of Fjordur — a fan-made and Dev-approved map. The smallest of the new creatures is the mighty Fjordhawk, your personal bag-bird. This guide will show you where to find this small bird on Ark: Survival Evolved’s new map, Fjordur.
What is the Fjordhawk
The Fjordhawk is a small creature that brings your inventory back to you in the case of an unfortunate end. It’s small, agile, and quite adorable. The Fjordhawk is also a shoulder pet, meaning you don’t need to have it on follow; it just sits on your shoulder going along for the ride. It also allows your player to spot item caches on the ground and injured or dead creatures. This has a limited range but can be very useful if you’ve lost your prey or you can’t find the item cache of a player you killed.

The Fjordhawk can be located on the overmap or Midgard. It mainly keeps to around four areas. However, it often travels in smaller flocks that are a bit spaced out over the area.
The first cluster of Fjordhawks can be found in the top left corner of the map. This area is distinct and easy to spot because it lies in a valley and is filled with autumnal-colored trees. They’ll be all around the valley but around 18:95 – 26.49. They travel quickly, so don’t be surprised if they’re a bit away from the coordinates.
The second cluster of Fjordhawks can be spotted around the Basalt pillars. You’ll find them on the edge of the cliffs at around 67.78 – 39.02. Killing dinosaurs for them to harvest might be tricky on the cliff edge, so plan your taming route accordingly.
Fjordhawks can also be found around the other Basalt clusters all the way over 37.66 – 92.88 around that general area. You’ll want to watch out for any larger carnivores as they like to hover around this location.
