Which legendary Pokémon are shiny locked in Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra?

If you want to shiny hunt, make sure you read this.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Shiny hunting is a hobby among many Pokémon players, especially when it comes to legendary Pokémon. However, not all legendary Pokémon can pop up as legendaries, as some are shiny locked, and thus, they won’t appear as a shiny no matter how many times you reset or encounter one. This remains true in Pokémon Sword & Shield, as several legendary pocket monsters are shiny locked in The Crown Tundra DLC.

10 legendary Pokémon are, in fact, shiny locked for Static encounters in The Crown Tundra (per Matt Youkhana). This list includes Victini and Keldeo, as well as Poipole and Calyrek. Here is the full list:

  • Victini
  • Keldeo
  • Cosmog
  • Poipole
  • Glastrier
  • Spectrier
  • Calyrex
  • Galarian Moltres
  • Galarian Zapdos
  • Galarian Articuno

Additionally, the Galarian versions of Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos, are also shiny locked. However, none of the Regis, plus Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion of the Unova region are shiny locked for Static encounters.
