Loba love triangle

Who will be Loba Andrade’s “love” in Apex Legends?

She's a maneater and a ladykiller.

One of the best things about Apex Legends is the fact that the lore and extended universe for it is always building and expanding (and has been since Titanfall). One of the Season 7 installments of this lore was uploaded to the Apex Legends twitter account and centers on a conversation and battle between Loba Andrade and her livelong rival and revenge story, Revenant.

In this teaser, Loba reveal she had found Revenant’s source code and sent it to an unknown location via a phaserunner: An in-game teleportation device. This means Revenant effectively has the curse of immortality, when he is so far-gone that all he wants is to die. Revenant chooses not to kill Loba, but instead to shadow her, and destroy the next thing, or more likely, person, she holds dear and loves, specifically to make her suffer.

This leaves players asking: Who will Loba’s love be?

Jaime

One possibility is Jaime. Jaime is a side character who is an old friend of Loba’s. We have seen him in Legacy of a Thief, the episode of Stories from the Outlands that focused on Loba and her backstory, but not much outside of that.

If he comes back into play, it’s very possible, story-wise, that he could be killed off, fitting in with Revenant’s threat. While all of the legends, of course, can’t be killed off because they are playable characters. If this is the case… RIP Jaime. Say hi to Forge for us.

Bangalore

All of that said, just because Revenant is going to attempt to kill Loba’s love, doesn’t mean he will succeed. If that’s the case, I can’t think of a better choice to fight off the killer robot himself than the one-and-only Bangalore.

She lives for the battle, and players have long speculated a possible romance between the butch military brat, and the openly bisexual high society thief. Could Revenant’s threat be foreshadowing the game’s second gay romance? (The first being Gibraltar and Nik’s past relationship)

Other Possibilities

It’s also very possible, considering Loba’s affinity for material desires, that the next thing she loves will, in fact, be an object. Not something of monetary value, as Loba’s wealth is beyond messing with, but something with sentimental value. Maybe the wolf statue she got from her parents, or an object holding a similar weight.

The last possibility would be that Loba may have a change of heart and want to make good on Revenant’s wishes. Maybe the thing Revenant will take from her will be more metaphorical: her lust for revenge. Loba and Revenant even working side-by-side to locate his source code again, so she can give him his final grave. After all, the opposite of love is indifference. Hate is a passionate emotion, whether Loba admits it or not.

So, to who will the story take Loba? Jaime? Bangalore? Even Revenant? Or something we haven’t covered at all? Only time will tell, but plenty of fans have their fingers crossed for whichever ship they’ve sailed.
