Sony has provided an update on which PlayStation 4 accessories will be compatible with the PlayStation 5. The company initially revealed a wide array of accessories along with the PlayStation 5 during the last State of Play, and the PS5 will come with the PS5 Media Remote, the PULSE 3D Wireless Headset, the PS5 HD Camera, and the DualSense charging stand, and of course, the DualSense controller. The accessories have already been listed on Amazon Germany store but prices are yet to be revealed. Now, Sony has revealed which PlayStation 4 accessories will work with the PlayStation 5.
Will DualShock work with PS5 games?
Tthe PlayStation 5 will support the DualShock 4, but with a big caveat: It will only work for PlayStation 4 games. That means that you will not be able to play PlayStation 5 titles using the DualShock 4 controller or other officially licensed PS4 gamepads. While this might be a bummer for many, it does make sense given the fact that the new controller will be incorporating a number of features that are not present in the DualShock 4.
Which accessories will the PS5 support?
The Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets and third-party headsets which work via USB or audio-port will work on the PlayStation 5. Sony also mentions that specialty peripherals such as “officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games.”
Will the PS5 support the PlayStation Camera and Move controllers?
Yes, the PlayStation Camera PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work on supported PlayStation VR games available on the PlayStation 5. The camera will require a separate adapter, however, that will be available free of cost. Details on how to get that will be available later.
