It’s that time of year again, as many football fans look forward to the start of the NFL season and the release of the yearly Madden game. Madden 23, much like other games that have previously launched, will be released during the summer of 2022. And much like the past two years, it will be available for both old and current-generation consoles. But what about the Nintendo Switch? Will Madden 23 go live for the Nintendo Switch? We have some answers now, so let’s take a look at what we know.
On June 2, EA Sports and the Madden team revealed the first gameplay trailer for Madden. In it, EA highlighted some of the new gameplay changes coming to Madden 23, including the addition of upgraded mechanics. Additionally, the trailer highlighted the new Fieldsense gameplay engine.
The trailer also offered EA a chance to reveal information regarding the new title, including the release date, and console information.

Madden 23 will be released this coming August for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC. Madden 23, as of June 2022, will not be receiving a Nintendo Switch version. While this news might sound disappointing for those who only own a Switch, or want to bring it on the go, the lack of a Nintendo Switch version is hardly a deviation from precedent.
There has never been a Switch version of a Madden game. And in fact, a game from the iconic football franchise hasn’t gone live on a Nintendo console since 2012, with Madden 13 for the Wii and Wii U.
It is possible for sports games to get a release for that platform, if NBA 2K, FIFA, and MLB The Show are any indications. However, Madden does not appear to be joining those titles for 2022.
