World War Z is filled with all kind of weapons for you to use. They can often be found in crates with stacks ammo, grenades, and medkits all around them. From time to time, you will also find a Breaching Charge. At first, there doesn’t seem to be any way to use them, even though you can pick them up. They can be used to get access to locked off areas of the game, however.

How To Use Breaching Charges

When you find a Breaching Charge and pick it up, it will go into the inventory slot that is normally reserved for Defense Systems. They are not Defense Systems, however. Instead, you can use the Breaching Charge to get access to blockaded rooms that are spread throughout the level. As you move through the levels, you will see doors with a yellow symbol painted on them, shown in the image above.

If you have a Breaching Charge, you can interact with the door and use the charge to blow it open. Inside you should find crates containing powerful weapons or items that will help you on your mission.

Now, much like the Defense System, Breaching Charges are a random spawn. They can appear just about anywhere in a level, so make sure you are exploring carefully as you make your way through. There should be some lulls in the action that allow you to have a good look around the locations you are moving through.
