XCOM 2: How to Remove the Intro Videos and Cinematics

This guide will show you how to remove the intro videos and cinematics in XCOM 2. Two Simple tricks to remove the video permanently.

XCOM 2 will set Twenty years since after humanity lost the war against the alien invaders and a new world order now exists on Earth. You will take control of XCOM forces must rise and eliminate the alien occupation, but first let’s just get rid of these awful time-consuming startup videos. This guide will show you how to remove the intro videos and cinematics in XCOM 2.

How to Remove the Intro Videos

Normally if you start the game it takes 15+ seconds to load the main menu and the main reason behind this is the Intro Video which is very time-consuming. When you have only limited time to play then this video becomes irritating so let’s just remove it out permanently. We have 2 different way to remove the Startup video and Here they are:

Trick 1

Step 1:

Go to the following location:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Config\

Step 2:

Make a backup of the File ‘XCOMEngine.ini‘

Step 3:

Now open the same file with any text editor

Step 4:

Locate ‘StartupMovies‘ Line and then Delete the Following Lines

• StartupMovies=X2_2KFXS_Logos
• StartupMovies=X2_Logo
• StartupMovies=UE3TechLogo_XC2
• StartupMovies=XC2_LegalScreen
• StartupMovies=Black

Step 4:

Save the File and Load the game.

Step 5:

Now you only have to wait for just seven seconds instead of fifteen seconds to play XCOM 2.

Trick 2

Step 1:

Right Click you Game and Select Properties

Step 2:

Click on the ‘Set Launch Options‘ Tab

Step 3:

Enter “-nostartupmovies“

Step 4:

Save and exit.

Step 5:

Play Xcom 2 without intro cinematics.
