When you load up Yoshi’s Crafted World for the first time on Nintendo Switch, the game will ask you to pick one of eight different colored Yoshis to play as on your quest.

Once you lock in that choice, you will be forced to play the first level as that color Yoshi— but what happens if you change your mind? What if you want to change from the traditional Green to Blue or Red?

Thankfully Nintendo thought about this and created a way for players to change the color of everyone’s favorite dinosaur through the in-game menus.

While in the game’s overworld, press the “+” button on the Nintendo Switch controller to bring up the main menu. You’ll then see an option called “Choose a Yoshi” so click on that.

This will bring you to a new menu that will show all the gems you have collected thus far, as well as all eight of the original Yoshi varieties you could choose from at the beginning of the game.

Choose from either Green, Red, Pink, Orange, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Purple, or Yellow and then select them with A. You’ll then become that Yoshi instead of your original one and head back to the game map with a new color and purpose. If you decide you want to stick with your original color, after all, though, just press the “B” button.

Now, back to the quest!
