Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links Forbidden/Limited Cards (2021) – Full card banlist and how it works

A breakdown of all the cards that are on the list.

Much like the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has a Forbidden/Limited list in place. The Duel Links Forbidden/Limited list has changed drastically since the game launched in 2017, thanks to new, overpowered cards and metas that have come and gone over time.

If you’re wondering which cards are on the list, we’ve got you covered. However, before getting into the Forbidden/Limited list details, let’s go over how the list actually works.

It’s important to note that the Forbidden/Limited list in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links functions differently than compared to the TCG. In the traditional Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, cards that hit the Semi-Limited or Limited list are restricted to just those items. For example, if the trap card Adhesion Trap Hole hits the Limited list in the TCG, only that card is affected by this addition. This move would have no effect on the amount of copies on a card like Skill Drain, which is currently on the Limited list, that you could run in a deck.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, things are a bit different. In Duel Links, you can only run a combination of cards that are on the limited list. Here are the different Tiers of the Duel Links Forbidden/Limited list:

  • Forbidden – No copies of this card can be used.
  • Limited 1 – Only one card from this Tier can be added to a deck.
  • Limited 2 – Only two cards from this Tier can be added to a deck.
  • Limited 3 – Only three cards from this Tier can be added to a deck.

To illustrate, let’s take a look at an example from the current Forbidden/Limited list. In the Limited 2 Tier, the Spell cards Gold Sarcophagus and Enemy Controller are on the Forbidden/Limited list. This means that because of those two cards on the Limited 2 list, players could run either two copies of Enemy Controller, two copies of Gold Sarcophagus, or one copy of Enemy Controller and Gold Sarcophagus. This list in effect for all Ranked PvP and KC Cup matches.

Now that we’ve gone over how the list works, let’s look at all the cards currently on the Duel Links Forbidden/Limited list.
