Surprisingly, Insomniac Games’ Bryan Intihar said he’d love to see such thing happen, as he is a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts and other intellectual properties from Disney (such as Pixar) have already been announced as part of the latest game in the RPG series.
“That’d be awesome. They’ve got to start putting the Marvel worlds in there, right? They’ve added the Pixar stuff, right, so we need Star Wars, we need Marvel…,” Intihar commented. “That’d be awesome to have Sora dressed as Spider-Man! That’d be great. That’d be awesome.”
While we don’t see any particular reasons for this not to happen, we wonder what it would be like and whether such a crossover could be put in place sooner or later.
Most probably, it’ll depend on the success of the upcoming PS4 exclusive and, in terms of time, there would still be a chance for this to happen in Kingdom Hearts III and not only for future games, maybe as a DLC to be released post-launch.
Spider-Man releases on September 7. Kingdom Hearts III drops at an unspecified date later this year.
