Reviews have been particularly positive for God of War and, while we wait for it to launch on April 20, it’s worth noting which position it has achieved in terms of average score in the PS4 exclusive titles’ chart on Metacritic.
At this stage, with reviews still coming at a slower pace, Santa Monica Studio’s action adventure has achieved an average score of 95/100, which is perhaps much higher than anticipated considering how much it has changed in comparison with the previous entries in the franchise.
This means God of War is the second PS4 exclusive game with the highest average score on Metacritic, just below Grand Theft Auto V with 97/100. Considering that GTA V is not native from this generation of consoles, we could even say God of War is the current-gen best-rated title for PlayStation 4 and the best-rated exclusive.
The podium has GTA V (97) in the first position, something which we don’t think will change anytime soon, God of War (95) and The Last of Us Remastered (95), with the latter, also coming from the 7th generation of consoles.
