Nintendo Switch is finally getting cloud saves once the Nintendo Switch Online service/platform launches later this year. This addresses, in the very end, a highly requested feature that players have been asking for a while.

Nintendo Switch has several games that require you to pour a lot of hours in them, such as – only the mention the most famous ones – Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Super Mario Odyssey and the very sweet The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Nintendo Switch Online Gets Cloud Save Support

Every now and then you could read posts from people on social networks and forums who lamented the fact of being unable to put their save files on other platforms in case their Switch consoles got bricked for some reasons. That was a real disappointment and reason of concern to many.

Now, Nintendo seems to have addressed the issue, offering together with the subscription to Nintendo Switch Online a cloud save feature that will unfortunately as a paid option for you to unlock. It’ll be very cheap, anyway.

“Save your data online for easy access. Details about this feature will be available before the paid service launches in September,” Nintendo mentioned on its official website, which probably hints at an E3 2018 full reveal.

As of prices, Nintendo Switch Online will cost $3.99 for a one month subscription, $7.99 for three months, $19.99 for a year and $34.99 for a Family Membership, which allows up to eight Nintendo Account holders to use the service.
