Why Metroid Prime 4 Was Missing From E3 2018

Talking to Polygon, the Nintendo of America president offered a comment about why Metroid Prime 4, which was revealed at the E3 2017, hasn’t been among the titles displayed this year, together with the officially delayed Yoshi.

“We believe it is not fair to the fan to repeatedly tease them over time about a game,” Fils-Aime told Polygon during an interview at the E3. “That’s why we tend to focus close in, typically in a six- to nine-month timeframe, and go deep in sharing content and information on a particular piece of content.”

“Metroid Prime 4 continues to be in development and making great progress. But right now, for something that’s not launching in 2018, it just wasn’t the right time.”

The game has been rumored to be in the making at Bandai Namco Singapore, extending a partnership between Nintendo and Bandai Namco that has been established quite a long time ago on the Super Smash Bros. series.

Are we going to learn more on the game next year, or a sudden Nintendo Direct is adding more information sooner rather than later? We’ll see…
