Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Allow You To Drive Flying Cars

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

Cyberpunk 2077 is set in a sci-fi and futuristic world but players won’t be able to drive the flying cars, according to the details revealed by Max Pears – the level designer at CD Projekt Red. “You won’t be able to control flying cars but they will be used for missions for crucial things,” level designer Max Pears told Metro, also adding that “the main way to get through will be on foot, cars, and bikes.”

One of the things people are most psyched about sci-fi and futuristic worlds are the flying cars. We were promised that by these years we would be driving ours but they don’t even exist yet, so perhaps this is the reason why we’re still looking to watch them in movies and play them in video games.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Flying Cars Won't Be drivable

Anyway, it looks like Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be the game for us to go in and satisfy this long-standing desire, as CD Projekt RED has confirmed, in an interview released during E3 2018, that the game won’t allow us to drive flying cars.

“You won’t be able to control flying cars but they will be used for missions for crucial things,” level designer Max Pears told Metro, also adding that “the main way to get through will be on foot, cars, and bikes.”

So, it’s a weird situation for Cyberpunk 2077 to be in, of course, although we’re going to be given multiple options for what matters the movements in the Nighty City areas. All those vehicles, bikes included, will be playable in third person view.

Also, it’s worth noting that we’re told we “won’t be able to control flying cars” even though they are going to be used in our missions. Could this mean we’ll be in flying cars as passengers, and maybe that we’ll have to shoot enemies from there? It’s a possibility and a possible compromise.

Cyberpunk 2077 has still a long way ahead in terms of development and it still lacks a release date or window, but it’s told to be aiming for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
