Good news for those among you who own an Xbox One X, as The Coalition is working to implement 4K and 60fps for Gears of War 5 on the high-end Microsoft console when it releases next year. “Our target is always 60fps, and we believe – with everything we’ve done, the learning we’ve taken from Gears 4, and the optimisations we’ve been able to do beyond that – that’s exactly what we’re going to be doing, 60fps at 4K,” Rod Fergusson told Wired.
Good news for those among you who own an Xbox One X, as The Coalition is working to implement 4K and 60fps for Gears of War 5 on the high-end Microsoft console when it releases next year.
Gears of War 4 came equipped with a 4K resolution in single-player and Horde but only at 30fps. 60fps were deployed at 1080p in multiplayer modes by a standard but were also an option in the campaign on Xbox One X.
“Our target is always 60fps, and we believe – with everything we’ve done, the learning we’ve taken from Gears 4, and the optimisations we’ve been able to do beyond that – that’s exactly what we’re going to be doing, 60fps at 4K,” Rod Fergusson told Wired.
He added that “the new technology of this generation has been fantastic,” remarking the achievement for The Coalition team, which is quite impressive, to be honest, also if you consider that Gears 5 is going to be much bigger and more open than the previous series’ iterations.
Anyway, as it was foreseeable, the optimization on Xbox One X are granting more things to come in one or two years from its launch, so there’s really a lot of room for adding more resolution and more frame rate, especially in the first party productions, on top of what we’ve already seen.
Gears of War 5 is releasing in 2019, also on Windows 10.
