Game director Tetsuya Nomura has shared more information about how he feels now that the Kingdom Hearts series is coming to an end, thanks to the upcoming launch of the third and final chapter.

According to Nomura, there’s a mixture of feelings in the team as the saga is finally wrapping up but it is also providing solutions to the destinies of many characters people (both from the inside and the outside) have fond memories about.

“It does come to an end, but I’m not fully swayed to one emotion,” Nomura told USGamer in an interview which was recorded back at E3 2018, of course via a translator as he has used us to.

“I’m not really happy, I’m not really sad. Although I do feel a little sad when I think some characters will probably never appear ever again. Once I think about that, it makes me a little sad. But other than that I’m just more relieved that I was able to tell the full story.”

This is probably the same feeling fans of the franchise currently have, as you might be a bit sad to hear this is the final chapter for many of the characters that have accompanied you all over these years but are eager to know how this ends.

Kingdom Hearts III is releasing on January 29, 2019 after a final and relatively short delay, since it was originally slated for a generic “2018” launch window but got attached with this date during a music event that was held in the same days of E3.

A few days later, the director admitted that both this game and the much anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake were announced a bit too early in regards of when they got finally playable.
