Game Critics Awards have finally been unleashed after the E3 2018 and 51 outlets – from all around the world – expressed their preferences based on games that were playable or played, and not just shown in trailers, at the event.

Game Critics Awards have finally been unleashed after the E3 2018 and 51 outlets – from all around the world – expressed their preferences based on games that were playable or played, and not just shown in trailers, at the event.

Resident Evil 2 remake ended up being awarded the Best of Show prize, which is easy to understand why since it looked so good even from home, while Media Molecule’s yet-to-be-dated Dreams has been named the Best Original Game.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Voted Best of E3 2018

Last year’s best of show was Super Mario Odyssey, while in 2016 it was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Here’s the full list of the awards:

Best Independent Game

  • Ori and the Will of Wisps (Moon Studios/Microsoft for PC, Xbox One)

Best Ongoing Game

  • Fortnite (Epic for iOS, Mac, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One)

Special Commendations for Graphics

  • Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt RED for PC, PS4, Xbox One)
  • The Last of Us Part II (Naughty Dog/SIE for PlayStation 4)
  • Ghost of Tsushima (Sucker Punch/SIE for PlayStation 4)

Special Commendation for Sound

  • The Last of Us Part II
  • (Naughty Dog/SIE for PlayStation 4)

Special Commendation for Innovation

  • Cyberpunk 2077 (CD Projekt RED for PC, PS4, Xbox One)

It’s good to mention that special commendations were delivered for a few games which looked worthy, like Cyberpunk 2077 for Innovation and Graphics.

We just told you the five things we learned at this year’s showcase about the CD Projekt RED game, so it’s really about time you look at them now. Also, The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima were awarded for Graphics alone.
