According to director Allan Ungar, someone sent him “couple emails” asking about the project and probably demanding something more. That ‘someone’ could be the intellectual property owner Sony.
The emails asked wondered about “what [the fan film] could mean as a digital series or something further,” and the director himself thinks that “if it makes sense and if it’s done right, I’d be thrilled to have a conversation about it and possibly see this specific story continue.”
You might remember that Sony has already an Uncharted movie in the making, starring Tom Holland in the role of the young series protagonist Nathan Drake, so the projects could live together as means of low budget promotion for the brand or even something linked to the movie itself.
Whatever – if you’ve seen Nathan Fillion’s fan film, you’ll notice it is a work of passion for the Uncharted series and a showcase of the actor and director’s skills in making things like this. So, why don’t award this work with something ‘more’ official than a simple fan film?
