Devil May Cry V is shaping up pretty nicely and there are still a lot of things we need to learn anytime soon or at least before the launch early next year. Among the things, there are the mysteries linked to the identities of certain characters.

During an interview with Dengeki Online, director Hideaki Mitsuno has discussed who is the third character you can see in the key art of the game, confirming he’ll be playable although not revealing his identity.

“What is he? Well, he’s definitely an important character. After Nero and Dante, he’s the third playable character,” There’s a point to him seemingly not having any weapons. Keep it in mind, because if you do, there will be a moment in the full game where you go “that’s what I thought!”, he said.

Also, he discussed what happened with Kyrie, a character who has debuted in Devil May Cry 4 but has not appeared in the flesh in the trailer of DMC5. Interestingly, anyway, this doesn’t mean she won’t be there.

“In the trailer there’s a scene where Nero shouts “Kyrie”. However, whether or not anything happens to her… I can’t say. But the fact Nero shouted her name does mean something serious happened.”

Devil May Cry V is going to be playable at Gamescom in August, so perhaps there are more details on the way this soon. Anyway, the launch is confirmed to be happening very early next year for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
