We all know that Rocksteady (the studio behind the popular Batman Arkham video game franchise) is currently working on their new game, but there are no official words on what exactly this new game is. One rumor states that the studio is working on a new Superman game. Today, a new post appeared on 4Chan shedding some light on what Rocksteady’s new game is going to be when we can expect an official announcement, the list of platforms the game is being developed and many other interesting things. I know it’s not good to believe the posts from 4Chan, but you will have a change of heart at least for this post after going through the research Reddit user “virgilhawkins17” did on it.

Rocksteady Working On Justice League Game

According to this post on 4Chan, Rocksteady’s next game is going to be a Justice League, and few possibles names the studio are discussing internally are: “Justice League: Crisis, Justice League: New Crisis, Justice League: Infinite Crisis”. Out of these “Justice League: Crisis” looks to be the final one because the domain: “justiceleaguecrisis.com” is owned by Warner Bros, and it was recently updated in 2018.

Justice League: Crisis is going to be a single-player/co-op type and players will have the ability to switch between characters similar to the way they did in Arkham Knight. It will be possible for players to play the entire campaign both ways (single-player/co-op), and a separate mode will be included that will cater to multiplayer.

Here’s a list of characters, villain, and cities that will be present in the game.

  1. Characters: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Wally), Green Lantern (Hal), Cyborg, Aquaman
  2. Villains: Starro (Main Villain), Brainiac and Darkseid will be added via DLC.
  3. Cities: Metropolis, Gotham, Keystone (this is the reason why Flash is marked as Wally above), and more cities will be added via DLC. Each city in the game is going to be bigger than the Arkham Knight, and just as detailed as it was in Arkham Knight.

On the topic of the story of Justice Crisis, the 4Chan post states: “All the heroes are pretty early on in their careers. Batman’s still considered an urban legend to anyone outside of Gotham, Superman isn’t the “world protector” yet, and WW is still on Themyscira. Aquaman’s still in the sea, GL is in space, and Wally isn’t even a hero yet.”

And when asked to explain how the gameplay will work in the game, the poster replied: “From what I hear, it plays just like the Arkham games, except more refined and “opened up”. Guessing that’s for the heroes that can fly and such.”

For some Starro being named the main villain will sound lame, but if you take a closer look at the easter eggs in the previous Rocksteady games, they have provided hints towards their next game. There was a Starro Easter Egg in Arkham Knight’s Batgirl DLC. You can watch it below. Starro is inside a test tube.

The game is said to be currently in development for Xbox Scarlett, PlayStation 5 and PC. The post adds that more details on the next Xbox (codename Scarlett) will be revealed later this year and full reveal will take place at some point in 2019, and Sony will officially unveil PlayStation 5 early 2019.

Here’s the last tease that hints that these Justice League: Crisis details look legit – BatmanArkham sub-Reddit moderator has deleted this thread without citing any reason. Previously, the used to issue a notification that these types of information should be marked as RUMOR or LEAK, but on this occasion, they took down the post.
