According to ResetEra sales insider Benji, there’s a particular reason why it’ll take a bit longer for Sony to announce a brand new PlayStation console – it still has PS4 exclusives to reveal.
Based on information gathered by Benji, the Japanese platform holder would have one “major” title still in the making for PlayStation 4, which wouldn’t have been announced yet. So not the likes of The Last of Us Part II, Death Stranding nor Ghost of Tsushima.
“Thing is it’s hard to show up big at conferences when every major remaining 1st party exclusive for the PS4 is already announced besides 1,” he told a surprised crowd over the ResetEra thread where users are discussing next-gen plans.
He was quite clear in defining what this game should be like – a proper first-party exclusive title, not a PlayStation VR release nor a remake in the likes of what Bluepoint Games has done thus far.
So, the hunt for this title has already begun and, despite not many “major” developers are still unemployed at the moment, there’s a chance stuff like Bloodborne 2, Horizon 2, a new Killzone game or even something from Fumito Ueda could drop in a couple years.
What do you think of this rumor, is there still anything else this big PlayStation 4 could deploy by the end of this generation?
