During the last few days, Blizzard has been in the middle of a, well, blizzard because of its Diablo Immortal presentation.
At BlizzCon 2018, many were expecting to learn the first details about Diablo 4, and then they were given a mobile game.
Anyway, according to a report from Kotaku, things could have been different: a D4 reveal might have been scrapped last minute.
This report, which we’ve been discussing yesterday, has been debunked by Blizzard itself in any case. Apparently, at least this is the studio’s version, that reveal was never planned to be part of the presentation.
“First off we want to mention that we definitely hear our community. We generally don’t comment on rumors or speculation, but we can say that we didn’t pull any announcements from BlizzCon this year or have plans for other announcements,” the developer told Kotaku in a note.
“We do continue to have different teams working on multiple unannounced Diablo projects, and we look forward to announcing when the time is right.”
So, while confirming that the game’s in the making, Blizzard isn’t ready to reveal it and wasn’t at BlizzCon 2018 neither.
Diablo Immortal is releasing next year and all we can do is hope it’s good enough to meet the highly valued series standards.
