Fallout 76’s Power Armor Edition comes at the price of $200, which is quite an expense for players willing to support the series they love.

Anyway, it comes with quite a big loot:

  • an exclusive Steelcase
  • 24 collectable Fallout figurines
  • Tricentennial Edition Bonus digital items,
  • a glowing map
  • a wearable T-51B Power Armor Helmet
  • a Canvas West Tek Duffel Bag

Or at least it is supposed to be coming with quite a big loot, considering that some of these things are not as good as they were advertised.

According to reports from users on Reddit, Bethesda shipped a cheap nylon bag instead of the promised Canvas Wet Tek Duffel Bag, which is rather disappointing considering how big is the cost of the package.

An initial communication from the customer service was admittedly reporting there was a lack of materials which was leading to this change in the package.

“Due to unavailability of materials, we had to switch to a nylon case in the Fallout 76: Power Armor Edition,” said an email from Nicholas at Bethesda Customer Support.

“We hope this doesn’t prevent anyone from enjoying what we feel is one of our best collector’s editions”, concluded the communication.

Anyway, a second communication was shared by users, which is rather crazy and claims Bethesda showed the original Power Armor Edition as a prototype that turned too expensive to actually produce.

“We are sorry that you aren’t happy with the bag. The bag shown in the media was a prototype and was too expensive to make,” said the Bethesda Gear Store Support.

“We aren’t planning on doing anything about it.”

The email was double checked by users on Reddit because it looked to crazy to be real when it showed up with all the different photos and screen grabs on Imgur, and instead turned not to be fake.

Of course, this isn’t a proper confirm that all the Power Armor Edition units shipped are suffering the same issues, but in case more reports like this pop up on the net, we could soon be dealing with legal actions because of a false advertising operation.

We’ll update in case more details and more cases on the matter arise.
