Ashton Williams, senior communications manager, has indeed shared a tweet with the gif of a ghost, and that’s something clearly recalling one of the characters built by IW.
The community over ResetEra thought it was going to be a Ghost sequel, but Kotaku’s Jason Schreier has already claimed it’s not the Call of Duty game in the making for 2019.
So, it clearly seems to be Modern Warfare 4, and that ghost could actually be Simon “Ghost” Riley from the MW franchise.
Considering the character comes to an end in Modern Warfare 2, this title could be a prequel to the original series.
As he was quite beloved among gamers, there’s a chance this new adventure is some sort of spin-off based on him.
Sure enough it’s a great and bold way for Infinite Warfare to kick 2019 off, and one that leaves us with a lot of curiosity about what’s in store for Call of Duty this year.
