Capcom has just announced that Resident Evil 2 has already reached a significant milestone regarding shipped copies.
The remake has indeed managed to ship three million copies globally in its first week of availability on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
It’s a slight improvement in comparison with Resident Evil 7, which shipped ‘only’ 2,5 million copies in its first week.
“Cumulative sales of the games in the series now total 88 million units since the first title debuted in 1996,” the Japanese studio reported in a press release.
“More than 20 years later, continuous support from the passionate fan base across the globe makes it Capcom’s flagship game series.”
The game’s obtained a huge appreciation not only regarding sales but also for what matters critics – as you can check in our review.
This is most likely leading Capcom to build yet another remake with Resident Evil 3, depending on the amount and the quality of fan feedback.
