According to a new rumor, the rumored Resident Evil 3 remake could be indeed in the making and releasing as early as next year.

Insider Dusk Golem reports that the game could be releasing in the usual Capcom window in 2020, which means around January.

Capcom would be aiming to make Resident Evil an annual franchise, and the release of the remake would fit in that plan.

Remember that we’ve already grabbed Resident Evil 7 in 2017, and that Resident Evil 2 has launched two months ago.

In order to keep it up with the pace, the Japanese outlet would have apparently outsourced the development on the remake, though.

Dusk Golem says that the name of the studio working on the game is “very interesting,” although he can’t spill all the beans.

It’s worth noting that in the past Capcom has already worked with external developers, such as Ninja Theory on DmC Devil May Cry.

In comparison with that project, this one would be much easier since you’d already have lots of the assets prepped up for RE2 — the original games were released one year after the other and shared many things.

Last time we heard about Resident Evil 3 Remake, it was from Capcom itself, with the studio claiming that a remake would’ve been done in case Resident Evil 2 turned out to be successful in terms of sales.
