How to get Shinnok’s Amulet in Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt mode?

How do you get Shinnok’s amulet in Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt mode?

In Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt mode, you play as a nameless warrior, and you explore the island from the first Mortal Kombat game. There are two main areas of the island, the surface and Goro’s Lair underground.

On the surface, there’s a locked door at the Mountain Pass area. The door can be unlocked with Dragon Amulet, which can be found in the Torture Halls in Goro’s Lair.

Through the locked door, you then climb down to an area filled with insect eggs and slimy walls. Down below you’ll come across a lever and three wheels. By pulling the levers, you can move the wheels to reveal holes in them. You need to put a medallion in all three holes, but which medallions?

One of them is Kronika’s Amulet, and that can be obtained by merely donating money to the Shrine on the surface map. Doesn’t matter how much money you give to the Shrine, your first reward is always Kronika’s Amulet.

Another one is Cetrion’s Amulet, which can be obtained by opening Cetrion’s chest in the Warrior Shrine. To open her chest you need to spike her severe head; to get her severe head, you need to perform 50 Fatalities on Cetrion in the Tower modes. We go into more detail here how to do it.

Unfortunately, the third one is the trickiest to get. You need to craft Shinnok’s Amulet at the Forgery. You need three items, two of which are pretty easy to obtain. The first item is Ensorcelled Demon’s Heart, which can be obtained randomly from spearing hanging bodies found throughout the Krypt.

The second item is the most difficult and time-consuming. The second item is the Ensorcelled Gem of Trapped Souls, and it can only be found by unlocking a specific Soul Vault found in the Dead Woods area. The specific Soul Vault that has the Ensorcelled Gem will be the one that needs 10,000 Souls to open. Souls are a type of currency, and it takes a really long time to collect a lot of them.

The third item is called an Ensorcelled Eye of a Dragon, and it is also pretty simple to get. One will randomly drop when you smash the giant spiders found in the Kytinn Hive area in Goro’s Lair.

Once you have all three, you can forge Shinnok’s Amulet. With all three amulets, you put them all in the holes in the wheels. Once all three amulets are place correctly, a new area of the Kytinn Hive will be unlocked. You can find more treasure in this new area, though be warn, there’s also more giant spiders to fight (my worst nightmare!).

If saving up 10,000 Souls is too much to get the Ensorcelled Gem of Trapped Souls, there’s actually a glitch that will automatically give you the Shinnok Amulet without forging it.

For this glitch to work, you have to make sure that you haven’t open the two Soul Vaults found near the levers that you need to pull to move the wheels. Make sure that the hole where Shinnok’s Amulet would go is visible. There should be a locked symbol in front of the hole if you do not have Shinnok’s Amulet.

Make sure the locked symbol remains on screen, and walk close to one of the Soul Vaults. At that point start tapping the X button on the PS4 controller or the A button on the Xbox One controller. Remember to make sure that the locked symbol is visible.

If you keep spamming the X or A button, Shinnok’s Amulet will suddenly materialize inside the hole.

*Note: This piece was written before Mortal Kombat 11’s 1.04 patch. The patch is meant to fix some bugs and glitches. Since I already used the Shinnok glitch, I have yet to determine if the glitch still works. It appears that the 1.04 may have taken out another popular glitch in the game that saved players a lot of time.
