Sony has just announced that a State of Play episode is airing on May 9, 2019. It’s the second episode in the Nintendo Direct-style broadcast that delivers PlayStation updates to the fans worldwide.

The new episode is coming Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 pm PT and will be very quick, as its length has already been revealed to be around ten minutes.

“Excited to share that the State of Play will return for a new episode next Thursday, May 9 at 3:00 pm Pacific Time. It’ll be a quick show (around 10 minutes), but we’ve got some PS4 updates we couldn’t wait to share with you,” said Sony in a blog post.

As for the content of the show, “PlayStation Worldwide Studios will be showing off an extended look at MediEvil, as well as the first look at a new title.”

Interestingly, there seems to be something urgent to be heard about those games, since the platform owner could not wait for a more consistent episode to be released. From the looks of it, it could be about time for a MediEvil PS4 release date, which is expected to drop in 2019. We’re not underestimating the “new title” as it is coming from Worldwide Studios so that it could be something relatively big.

On top of that, Sony also claims to have “other updates and announcements from upcoming PS4 games,” although we don’t anticipate to be anything major as those would be part of the initial reveal of the broadcast.

Finally, the makers of PlayStation point out that you should not “any updates relating to our next-generation plans this time,” even though specifics of the console and dev kits have already been revealed and are out there. There will be more time for those in the future.
