According to a new rumor spread by a 4chan user, Ubisoft has no Splinter Cell games in the making now, while plans would be already advanced for new Far Cry titles and a sequel to Mario + Rabbids.
Based on this intel, we learn that multiple Splinter Cell games have not left the pre-production stage: a Red Storm game for PlayStation VR, a first-person title from the Far Cry Blood Dragon team, a follow up to Blacklist and an open world from Paris/Shanghai.
None of them has seen the light of day, and according to Jason Schreier from Kotaku, that’s accurate, since he learned that no Splinter Cell games are being produced at any stage at Ubisoft.
On top of that, the source reports that Mario + Rabbids 2 is being developed at Ubisoft Milan and that two Far Cry are in the making: Far Cry 6 at Ubisoft Toronto, with FC2 game director Clint Hocking helming the project, and a Far Cry 5.5 at Ubisoft Berlin, possibly with a multiplayer component.
It’s very early to state whether this leak turns true or not in the future, although we must say that all the things reported look rather believable now. We will let you know more as soon as the situation evolves.
We have already reported about Ubisoft working on three triple-A games releasing by March 2020, so one of them could well be in this list. <Source
