According to multiple sources coming from Spain, The Last of Us Part II might be getting a new trailer as early as this week.

This would be part of Sony’s strategy to take advantage of the incoming E3 2019 without even attending it, for the first year in ages, and it isn’t the first time we hear about that.

Sources claim that a trailer is expected to drop “throughout the week,” so we don’t have more details on the exact time it would be anticipated for.

It’s worth noting that Death Stranding will also be revealing a brand new trailer on May 29, which is on Wednesday.

So, Sony could be willing to release both the trailers at the same time or that it would prefer to have them launching at separate times to take advantage of a bigger exposure.

While that remains to be seen, those sources also claim that the game could be getting a release date at the end of the trailer.

That release date could be fixed for fall 2019, which would be rather a surprise considering that work on motion capture was completed only a few weeks ago.

On top of that, the rumors report that a PlayStation 5 version of the title would have already been planned for a release in 2020.

This would allow the game to be cross-generational exactly as the original The Last of Us was, even if it came along with a “Remastered” subtitle on PS4.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens later this week to get a confirm of both the trailer on its way and perhaps most importantly the release date.
