As we approach E3 2019, the first interesting rumors are starting to pop up on the Internet, and this time around we’re talking about one of the most appreciated role-playing brands that is supposed to make a huge comeback relatively soon.

It’s not a mystery that Playground Games has been working on a Fable IV or Fable reboot for a few years now, and the time for a proper reveal might be coming as we get closer and closer to the E3 2019 Xbox media briefing.

A rumor which has been posted over Reddit and has been giving quite a lot of publicity by known insider Nibel has provided what looks to be the first insight on what to expect from the incoming Fable, and that sounds nuts, hugely bigger than your usual Fable game.

The rumor bullet list for all reasons:

  • First/Third Person
  • In-Depth character creator
  • Completely Open
  • No guns
  • Can ignore the main quest and never become a hero
  • Players can build towns, ties into the main quest heavily if you get the bad ending and fail
  • Multiplayer
  • Unreal Engine

On top of that, the game is said to be based in a world were Albion and Aurora are long gone, so it really seems like it is going to be more a soft reboot rather than a simple sequel to Fable III (that would make a lot of sense, if you ask me).

The plot looks insanely big as “The Spire was rebuilt and used by a mad king to wish that an asteroid would strike the planet. He also wished it would happen again in the far future. Eons later and everything is new (medieval themed, new continents) and you have to stop the destruction of the planet again.”

The game is supposedly allowing many familiar characters to return; we don’t know in which version or fashion, but “Theresa and a Heroes Guild are preserved on another planet via a demon door. Time Travel heavily involved in the play. Jack of Blades returns.”

I can’t really tell you how much I’m hyped for the return of Fable, and hopefully this time around they make it right. We’ll see on June 9, 2019.
