While the title didn’t show up at E3 2019, CEO Andrew Wilson spoke during a financial call regarding an arcade racing game debuting “heading into Gamescom in a few weeks.”
Gamescom is kicking off on Aug. 19 with the Opening Night Live show by Geoff Keighley, with the event spanning the entire week. It’s likely after the official reveal with all the information about the game it’ll be playable for press members in Koln, Germany, or even publicly.
While there hasn’t been an official reveal, we do know that Electronic Arts is aiming for a 2019 release date. That choice is rather unusual if you consider that significant games like this most of the times require around six months of marketing window to set things up.
Anyway, EA might be trying something different for the game after the 2015’s reboot and 2017’s Payback, which have not managed to stick with the community as much as the original titles. The title releasing this year is rumored to be called Need for Speed Heat, but we’ll find the truth in just two days.
