Borderlands 3 is almost here and few American websites were allowed to play the game ahead of its September 13, 2019 release. The outlets in question are really sparse, so don’t make a definitive idea about the game from those but just take a loot at the scores and see if those are ok in comparison with your expectations.

For the time being, the scores are far from being final. The game has achieved a Metascore of 83/100 on Metacritic and an 89/100 on Open Critic. Considering these are just the first reviews, those results are subject to change quite fast, but are somewhat indicative of the quality of the title.

I found GameInformer’s review quite interesting, as it points out that the game is more of the same while being very good nonetheless.

“Borderlands 3 is a love letter to its fans and a celebration of the style of play it first popularized,” GameInformer’s senior previews editor, Matt Miller, points out. “Filled with characters from previous installments, and unapologetic in its silly humor and bombastic action, it’s an amusing ride that seems hesitant to innovate. If more of what you loved before is your chief desire, Gearbox has granted that wish through a game of impressive scope that charts some very safe territory.”
