The good news doesn’t stop there for the series, as Persona 5 The Royal has hit 400,000 units sold in Japan. While Persona 5 The Royal has been available in Japan since Oct. 31, fans in the West have been waiting for some news about a release date. The good news is that Atlus is due to make an announcement today, with the expectation being that they will be revealing the Western release date for the game.

Multiple leaks through the PlayStation Store in the Indonesian and Taiwanese have revealed a Feb.20, 2020 release date for the game in those markets. While they are not Western markets, there is little reason to believe that Persona 5 The Royal won’t have a global release outside of the Japanese market.
The above announcements and reports add up to great news for fans of the franchise, as the Persona series seems to be going from strength to strength, and gathering more fans with every release. Persona 5 The Royal will bring all kinds of changes to the game, including a new phantom thief called Kasumi Yoshizawa, and an entire new semester to play through, a new grappling hook for Joker, a new location to explore in Tokyo and much more.
