The Game Awards 2019 is hitting hard with awards and reveals. One of the many world premieres dropped was Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga.

Following the Nordic theme of the first one, Hellblade 2 Senua’s Saga set the stage with a powerful, intriguing, and disturbing tribal chant. Complete with glowing runes, facial paint, and some impressive graphics, the game looks as promising and engaging as the first installment.

Not much is known this sequel to the breathtaking Hellblade 2: Senua’s Sacrifice. The first game, released in 2017, followed a young Nordic woman as she fought to save a loved one from death’s grip. The game paralleled the feeling of loss, sending the character through unbeatable bosses as she struggles profoundly and symbolically to accept the death.

Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga may follow suit. The trailer looks on as Senua, and her people appear to revive or confront a giant. Runes light around them as the ritual completes. What exactly awaits Senua in her new journey has yet to be revealed, but if it’s anything like its predecessor, it will be an emotional and beautiful one.

Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga comes to Xbox Series X.
