Microsoft did a surprise unveiling of the Project Scarlett console tonight on the Game Awards, which is now officially known as the Xbox Series X. It’s pretty big, measuring at about 12” by 6” — probably Microsoft’s biggest to date. But it’ll have a convenient feature that makes it easy to fit into your game collection.

The publisher confirmed in its official Xbox Series X post on its page that players can use the system vertically or horizontally. You’ll find the paragraph below, confirming the news:

“Its industrial design enables us to deliver four times the processing power of Xbox One X in a quiet, efficient way, something that is critically important in delivering truly immersive gameplay. We also designed Xbox Series X to support both vertical and horizontal orientation. It’s bold and unique, very much like our fans around the world and the team of collaborators and innovators who built it.”

And no matter which way you set it, you’ll be able to run games the same way. Some of you may recall that the Xbox 360 worked similarly. It wasn’t as bulky as the Xbox Series X, though.

With its somewhat larger size, it’s good to have different options available when it comes to setting it up.

The Xbox Series X arrives sometime holiday 2020. Pricing and other details aren’t available yet, but we should know more in the months ahead. Check out its debut trailer below.
