Microsoft’s Xbox Series X has received more details thanks to an exclusive GameSpot coverage, which features an interview with Executive Vice President at gaming Phil Spencer and Partner Director of Program Management for Team Xbox, Jason Ronald.

The two revealed some of the functionalities that the additional horsepower of Xbox Series X will allow unlocking when it releases next year, among which we can find the ability to suspend and resume multiple games at once.

“Today, we have the capability of instantly resuming the last game that you were playing. Why can’t you do that for multiple games?” said Ronald.

“Many players choose to play multiple games at the same time, being able to instantly jump right back where I was, those are things that we can do with the platform level to make the gaming experience better,” he added.

Microsoft wanted to ensure that “there’s less waiting and more time playing because that’s ultimately what we all want to do with the consoles and with the services that we have,” and this feature is part of their strategy to do so.

Xbox Series X was unveiled a few hours ago at The Game Awards 2019, and, in case you’re wondering what it is, it’s Microsoft’s next-gen console, which has been known since the last E3 as Project Scarlett. It’s launching in 2020 and Microsoft will share more news next June, particularly for what matters the launch lineup.

Among the other details we’ve learned thus far, there are some details about the next-gen Xbox controller in the making at Microsoft, which features a new PS4-like Share Button that will allow you to share clips and screenshots by simply pressing it.
