It seems that today is “Remaster Release Announcement” day, as Ubisoft follows the Dark Souls Remastered reveal with its own by announcing Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered. The original game was a classic on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2014 and was later followed by a PC port. The remastered version will bump up many of the game’s graphical specs and bundle it together with some extra content for the current generation of consoles. No PC version in sight, unfortunately.

The remastered version will, as expected, bump up the graphical prowess of the game by stretching the resolution to 4K, if your console and TV can support that. Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered will also feature higher-resolution textures and shadows, improved environmental rendering, and new visual effects.

If you missed out on the original game, this edition will bundle all of the original DLC and expansions along with some new content.

The new edition also packs in all of the original’s downloadable content and expansions, including two bonus missions – The Armor of Sir Gunn and The Siege of Fort de Sable – as well as the weapons, outfits, and customization items in the Master Templar and Explorer packs. It also includes a new bonus: Bayek’s legacy outfit from Assassin’s Creed Origins.

Rogue was the first game that let the player experience the Assassin’s Creed world from the eye of a Templar, as Morrigan, a former Assassin. Something feels slightly wrong about taking out fellow assassins, especially after having just recently finished the excellent Assassin’s Creed: Origins. However, I did miss the boat on this game a few years ago, so I’ll definitely be having a look.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Remastered will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 20, 2018.
