The Banner Saga 3 is on its way to Nintendo Switch, and in the meantime, the first game in the series will be available on the console as soon as next week.

In a tweet from Thursday, The Banner Saga’s official Twitter account revealed that The Banner Saga launches on Nintendo Switch on May 17, 2018. Interested fans can already pre-order the game via the Nintendo eShop, where the title costs $19.99.

The Banner Saga throws players into a fantasy world inspired by Norse mythology, where players lead Viking-like warriors against an anti-human race called the Dredge. The game merges tactical strategy gameplay with RPG features, and the series initially took off thanks to its beautiful Disney-like animations and immersive storytelling.

Both The Banner Saga and The Banner Saga 2 have since received critical praise, and a trailer for the upcoming third game was just unveiled yesterday. That video focuses on the Horseborn tribes within the game’s world.

All three Banner Saga games are planned for Nintendo Switch, and the Banner Saga 3 is set to wrap up the trilogy when it launches on PC, Mac, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on July 24, 2018. With only two months to go, it seems likely that The Banner Saga 2 will reach Nintendo Switch in the coming few months ahead. However, no official word has been announced on The Banner Saga 2’s Switch version’s launch date as of yet.

Versus Evil also revealed that there are “no plans at this stage” to bundle both The Banner Saga and The Banner Saga 2 in one package, however, the publisher also teased that fans should “stay tuned” for more news.
