During the last few days, we’ve reported about Bayonetta 3 being mentioned at the presentation of Astral Chain, in the latest Nintendo Direct.

Back in the broadcast, Nintendo said that the game was still hard in the works at Platinum Games, and that we’ll hear more about that soon.

Anyway, Nintendo of America’s senior product marketing manager Bill Trinen shared in a recent interview that the game is on its way “later this year,” and could be coming “a little bit sooner than people anticipated.”

“This is what I think is so great about the partnership between Nintendo and Platinum Games,” Trinen said in a podcast at Nintendo Power.

“Because to me, I look at [Astral Chain] and I see the kind of intense action game that historically you haven’t seen a lot of on Nintendo platforms.

With this collaboration with PlatinumGames, being able to bring stuff like that… and knowing that they mentioned, of course,Bayonetta 3, [which is] still in the works, it really helps to round out the library overall of what’s available on Switch.”

“And of course, that’s another game that’s maybe coming a little bit sooner than people anticipated, later this year,” he added.

So, it’s weird to see Nintendo still confirming that Bayonetta 3 is coming this year while we’ve not been given any further look to the game outside of its initial presentation at The Game Awards 2017.

We don’t believe it’s really coming this year, especially considering how many game the platform owner has on its plate for 2019.

But, again, we’re glad to see that Nintendo is willing to surprise its players and this consideration could change very quickly thanks to some kind of presentation out of nowhere.
