A different version of a well-known card will be introduced in Hearthstone’s upcoming expansion, The Boomsday Project.

Mecha’thun is a 10-mana legendary neutral Mech with 10 attack and 10 health. It also has a Deathrattle ability that allows you to destroy the enemy hero if you have no cards in your deck, hand, and battlefield.

This card will likely immediately remind Hearthstone players of C’Thun, which is a 10-mana legendary neutral minion with a Battlecry that deals damage equal to its attack randomly split between all enemies.

Mecha’thun could also combo well with the new Rogue legendary spell that’s coming in this expansion, Myra’s Unstable Element. This five-mana spell allows you to draw the rest of your deck—which is obviously one of the win conditions you’ll need to meet for Mecha’thun.

It seems like it will be extremely difficult to activate this minion’s powerful Deathrattle ability—but that won’t stop Hearthstone players from trying (and someone will probably eventually succeed).

The Boomsday Project is the second Hearthstone expansion of the current Standard year, the Year of the Raven. It’ll introduce 135 cards to the game, including new keywords like Magnetic. The set can now be preordered—and all of the cards will become available on Aug. 7.
