Among its lineup of games, Google’s Stadia will launch alongside some impressive titles, including Borderlands 3 and Doom Eternal.
We learned a lot about Google’s Stadia today, including specs, pricing, and a list of games. While the announcement event highlighted several games with unannounced release dates, it also revealed that Borderlands 3 and Doom Eternal will be launch titles for the console.
An exact launch date for the console hasn’t been revealed just yet, but we do know that it will be coming out this November. Borderlands 3 launches a bit earlier, on September 13, but it will be available day one for Stadia. Confirming Doom Eternal as a launch title is somewhat of a bigger deal because we don’t even have a release date for the game yet. If it’s going to be a Stadia launch title, that means that the latest it could come out is this November.
It still remains to be seen how demanding games like Doom Eternal and Borderlands 3 will perform on Stadia. The Stadia seemed plenty capable during today’s presentation, and its specs are nothing to scoff at, but there’s a lot that could go run when it’s running in a typical living room on a standard internet connection, rather than in a controlled environment.
Borderlands 3 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC when it launches on September 13.
When Doom Eternal launches, it will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC as well as the Stadia.
