Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford has debunked Borderlands 3 Xbox exclusive rumor. Speaking to a fan on Twitter, Randy Pitchford clarified that they have not signed any deal with Xbox for Borderlands 3.
During the last few weeks, a rumor gas been around that Microsoft and 2K Games might have signed a marketing deal over Borderlands 3, the next much anticipated yet still to be revealed title in the Gearbox franchise.
Anyway, this rumor hasn’t found a confirmation yet and Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has denied such deal is really in place now.
Talking to his followers on Twitter, Pitchford said that nothing like that has happened with the knowledge of his development team and that this rumor doesn’t sound like it is coming from a reliable source at all.
“Where are you getting that? Gearbox signed no such thing with Microsoft. How are these things becoming propagated as fact when there is zero basis in reality?” he commented.
“Clearly reported by zero reputable sources… I think to be reputable, one must care about and pursue truth. Reposting news from others without checking the source is one of the failures of digital ‘journalism’.”

Of course, as said the rumor hasn’t found a confirmation yet and most probably won’t have any until E3 2018 when the game is supposedly being revealed.
All we know at the moment is that the title has been in the making for a couple years and that the Borderlands series is ready for a comeback. Whether It is releasing as an exclusive of any sorts, that remains to be seen.
