Lovecraft’s classic and Chaosium’s pen and paper RPG is being adapted in to a video game. Explore Darkwater Island all while investigation a murder.
Inspired by the original Lovecraft publication and the emblematic pen and paper RPG by Chaosium, Call of Cthulhu is getting an official video game adaptation developed by Cyanide Studios. Call of Cthulhu is an RPG investigation title packed with psychological horror and stealth mechanics.
Call of Cthulhu will take players to Darkwater Island, and just like its name suggests, this will be a grim and disturbing place. Players will take control of Edward Pierce, a former war veteran and private investigator in 1920’s Boston, and will be tasked with investigating the tragic and mysterious death of Sarah Hawkins, who was an acclaimed artist that recently moved with her husband and their family to Darkwater.
Many of the features for Call of Cthulhu include:
- Investigative RPG set in the Lovecraft Universe, developed with Unreal Engine 4.
- Play as Edward Pierce and shed light on Sarah Hawkins murder, while facing the horrors of a grim island filled with monstrosities lurking in the dark.
- Doubt your own senses and experience true madness, thanks to the game’s unique sanity and psychosis crisis mechanics. Enhance your character’s abilities and use new skills to discover the truth.
- Experience rich exploration, full of deep dialogue with meaningful choices that impact the narrative.
Call of Cthulhu will pay tribute to Lovecraft’s work and universe by offering a dark and oppressive ambiance, which will leave fans breathless. You may even uncover darker secrets and more sinister forces at play deep within Darkwater Island.
