Call of Duty’s hyper-popular battle royale mode, Blackout, has had its beta extended today by two hours, Treyarch announced on Twitter.Â
On top of the beta extension, the player count has been increased to 100. The beta initially started at 80 players and was increased to 88 before the change this afternoon. This makes its player count comparable to the most popular battle royale games, such as Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The beta was initially scheduled to end today at 12pm CT, but the extension was made to keep the servers up, much to the delight of CoD and battle royale fans everywhere.
Blackout is CoD’s first foray into battle royale. It features a massive landscape that’s made up of multiple maps from the franchise’s history, like Firing Range, Raid, Array, and Nuketown.
The beta will now end today at 2pm CT, so make sure to get your last few games in before Black Ops 4 and Blackout’s release on Oct. 12.
