These strong enemies have escaped the Prison of Elders. They can appear as part of a public event as high-value targets roaming the open world, mini-bosses in Strikes, during Gambit matches, and as difficult bosses in Lost Sectors, according to a new report by Game Informer.
A new Fallen vendor, The Spider, will offer you bounties that will give a hint to an Outlaw’s location. From that point, you will go out into the world and try to hunt them down to fulfill the bounty and earn The Spider’s rewards.
The bounties offered by The Spider come in three tiers, with the first three having you travel across locations to perform a variety of tasks. The final tier, however, will have you undertake the all new Outlaw Lost Sector activity.
Lost Sectors are pre-existing locations in Destiny 2, but they have been changed to cater to Outlaws. In total, there are six new bosses to fight in Outlaw Lost Sectors, and Game Informer got to try out two of them.
The first one in the European Dead Zone tasks you with hunting down a Silent Fang, and sees you making your way through the Lost Sector using bombs to break down barriers. Those same bombs must be used to bring down the boss’s shield, making it feel like more of a Strike than a side mission in the open world. The second Outlaw Lost Sector featured a Hive Wizard that summoned an Ogre.
The article also mentioned that the Flashpoint milestone will now work differently, because players will be able to charge up the completion percentage of the milestone by completing patrols and Lost Sectors in addition to public events.
Improvements to pre-existing activities like this are just a small part of Forsaken. These changes and additions will be introduced to the game on Sept. 4.
