Find out if you can play as everyone’s favorite blue devil!

Being arguably just as popular if not more as his twin brother Dante, Vergil has always been a fan favorite of the Devil May Cry series. The cold and calculative swordmaster amazed fans of the series in Devil May Cry 3 many years ago.

While his first appearance was in the original Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 3 is where fans got a true glimpse of his personality and style. With the recent release of Devil May Cry 5, curious fans may be wondering if Vergil is playable once again.

Without spoiling too much, the short answer is no. While Vergil may have a larger role in the overall plot of Devil May Cry 5, he’s not playable like he was in Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition or Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition.

While this may disappoint longtime fans, there is hope that everyone’s favorite blue devil may return. It wouldn’t be too far fetched for Capcom to make Vergil playable in future DLC or even a special edition of the game.

Although fans should have plenty of time to master the other three playable characters: Nero, Dante, & V. Devil May Cry 5 is out now on PS4, XBO, & PC.
